Dates

The hackathon will take place from 10:30am on Saturday, March 14th, and conclude at 8:00pm PST. No hacking should take place before or after that block of time.

Eligibility

All currently enrolled LMU students from any major are eligible to compete.

Project and Submission Requirements

Submit your project to Devpost by the 8pm deadline. No modifications may be made to your project after the submission deadline. Projects will be presented in Perriera 140 for judging science-fair style.

Prizes

There will be a prize for the first place in the underclassman bracket. There will be first and second place prizes for the upperclassman bracket. 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

  • Quality of the Idea
    How creative and unique is the project? Does the idea align with the theme of the hackathon? Does the concept exist already, and if so, does it improve on it?
  • Implementation of the Idea
    How well was the idea executed on by the team? Does the work completed show promise for future development, or is it a complete project in its own right?
  • Potential Impact
    How meaningful would the impact of this project be on the target community?
  • Delivery of Presentation
    How well did the team present on their idea? Is the content of the presentation clear? Were all important details included?
  • The winners will be determined by the highest overall score based on the results of these four categories.

Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of the following: gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political views, previous hackathon attendance or lack of, computing experience or lack of, and chosen programming language or tech stack. 

We do not tolerate harassment of hackathon participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate at any hackathon venue, this includes the following: hacks, talks, presentations, or demos, workshops, social media, any other online media.

Hackathon participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the hackathon at the discretion of the hackathon organisers.
